Facilitation vs training


Typical trainings, where the trainer holds all the knowledge and the participants
listen, can become tiresome. Facilitations are more effective as:


1. The facilitator brings knowledge into the workshop, but the learning comes
from the wisdom of the group;
2. The facilitator creates space for learning & self-exploration;
3. Every participant is learning at their own pace, while utilizing their own
perspective & upbringing - yet is there to expand their world view;
4. The participants are more engaged doing interactive work & activities; and
5. The participants are put in a situation where they create trust, build
empathy, and get to know each other in ways that they never did before.
